Whoever said that Milan can not be a tourism destination, was lying. This city is not only dedicated to fashion and luxury, but also to culture. In Milan you can find many fans of opera, all eager to visit the temple of bel canto, the Teatro alla Scala. No wonder since this is where one of the greatest masters, Giuseppe Verdi lived. Milan has always been linked to this composer, who came to study at the Conservatory and stayed on till he died on January 27, 1901 in Via Manzoni, in his hotel room.

One of the most loved venues from Verdi was the Cova Café. Today, it is located in Via Montenapoleone, at the corner of Via Sant’Andrea. A writer so loved by Verdi was Alessandro Manzoni. You can visit his house in Via Morone. Another place to witness Verdi’s excellence is the Grand Hotel et de Milan in Via Manzoni. 

You can also pay a visit at the Conservatory of Music. It is near the church of Santa Maria of the Passion and Verdi Rest Home, in Piazza Michelangelo, where are the remains of the Master and his wife Josephine can be visited freely.
