The World’s Deepest Hole

Did you know that there  a few things known about Earth’s interior? Some say we know more for the boundaries of the universe than the center of our planet. What we know less comes largely from the transmitted seismic waves through the layers of the planet. The deepest drilling has ever been executed in Earth is what Russia did for 22 years (1970-1992) in Kola Peninsula and barely came to 12.3 km (1/3 of the cortex and less than 0.2% of the terrestrial radio).

The Pillars of Lena in Siberia

On the river bank, and over tens of kilometers, huge rocky outcrops with strange shapes, towers, pillars, and caves accompanied by beautiful landscapes that are hard to find. Imagine traveling on board of the river accompanied by thousands of natural and colossal statues.

It is a karst landscape, eroded for thousands of years, and a wealth of geologic evidence that once kept life forms but have now disappeared. In place of the stone forest of Lena, fossils of mammoths, and other missing links since Cambrian times can be found. But also enduring countless life forms catalogued 464 species of plants and abundant wildlife. The peculiarity is that one of the most beautiful landscapes of Russia is also the most inaccessible to tourists.

After a plane ride to the city of Yakutsk , continue on board for about 3 days of hiking to reach the fantastic forest of pillars of Lena , an area inaccessible by road.

The postal Kronotski and south of the peninsula complete with geysers and hot springs in some areas take on a ghostly vapor emission.

The bears are found primarily in the area of Lake Kurilskoye, a paradise lost, between marshes and sunny meadows, guarded by sea eagles at the foot of hot springs. In the area, hundreds of bears capable of weighing half a ton are living in the wild.

The Valley of the Geysers, within the reserve, has the second largest concentration of geysers in the world, in an area of 6 km long spring where dozens of columns of steam and hot springs. Some of the geysers throw columns of over 25 meters high every few hours.
Usually described as the Land of Ice and Fire, the contrasts of this desolate region are difficult to describe, almost as if it were an enchanted land. A dazzling in trip to the Mutnovsky volcano should certify this.
