Vienna is a city that is cultural, romantic, elegant. Spend New Year’s Eve in the Austrian capital that is unique and unrepeatable. But which are the places to spend the last few hours of a year? What about enjoying an unforgettable show?
The Imperial dance is the long-awaited event by high society and luxury tourists. Last 2011, the season of dancing in Vienna was held in the lavish Imperial Palace. Other dance performances to watch out for are the “Dance of the Hunters” , the “Dance of the Doctors”, and the “Dance of 28 Lawyers”. The dress code is obviously very fashionable: long evening gowns for women, and tuxedos for men.
But the Imperial Ball is certainly not the only way to spend the beginning of a special year. The second best social event in Vienna is the new year’s concert. As per the tradition, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra performs live during New Year’s Eve. The new year’s concert of this year was conducted by Mariss Jansons. Ticket prices ranged from 30 to 900 euros. If you couldn’t buy a ticket for one of the two most coveted events, don’t worry. You can always celebrate the city lights and the marvelous spectacle of fireworks.
