Besides the beauty of the buildings, even the sidewalks feature art. You’ll find Donald Duck and Bugs Bunny on Avenida de Roma and the crest of the city on Avenida Almirante Reis. City center is the Praca Dom Pedro IV, which is surrounded by great cafes and the National Theater. The Bairro Alto is one of the most fascinating and is the oldest neighborhood. Do not miss one of the most spectacular sunsets from miradouro de Santa Caterina. A visit to the district of artists and intellectuals, the Chiado district with schools of theater and art, is a must.

Another stop is at Elevador de Santa Justa, which you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Baixa Pombalina. The Baixa is a burgeoning shopping center. In the vicinity of the harbor is the Praca do Comercio, considered for long as one of the finest in Europe. Then if you want to enjoy some sun, you can visit Carcavelos beach.
