Lake Bolsena is the largest volcanic lake in Europe with a total surface area of 114 sq km. It’s also one of the most cleanest lakes.
Lake Bolsena offers various opportunities for leisure activities. From sports to sailing, water skiing, and windsurfing. The coastline is rich in ravines and creeks are the ideal places for fishing. The fauna of the lake is very rich. In addition to a great variety of fish, numerous species of birds stop here during the migration. This will truly be a delight for bird-watchers. Lovers of trekking and cycling can enjoy the numerous Taggia–Bussana–Sanremo cycling trails. The trails are flat and shaded, linking the countries bordering the Mediterranean.

In Lake Bolsena, there are two islands: L’isola Bisentina and Martana island. The Bisentina island, the largest, offers visitors charming landscapes, Italian gardens, and numerous chapels of great artistic value. Martana island is a private property, and therefore, is not accessible.
Holidays on Lake Bolsena also offers the opportunity to visit some fascinating archaeological sites of Alta Tuscia, formerly Etruscan territory. Among the most important are the necropolis of Elm, Polledrara and Bucacce. In addition, the remains of the villages of the Grand Chariot and Arlena.
