The Pyramids of Giza

The Pyramids of Giza, Pyramids of Giza Great Sphinx egypt cairoOf the original seven wonders of the world, only one remains standing. This is in Cairo, Egypt, where the pyramids of Giza stand. The Pyramids of Giza are located on the outskirts of the city.

One of the 3 most famous pyramids in the world is the Pyramid of Khufu, the only one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world that is still standing. This was covered with limestone that fell after an earthquake.

The Pyramid of Khafre seems to be the most beautiful, but only because of an optical effect since it is located on higher ground.

The Pyramid of Mycerinus is the smallest of all. There are over 100 pyramids, but these 3 are the most famous of all.

The Pyramid of Cheops, also called the Great Pyramid, is made up of no less than two-and-a-half million stone blocks weighing 60 tons. Inside, it has 3 rooms—the King’s Chamber, the Chamber of the Queen and the Subterranean Chamber.

If you are planning to visit Egypt, you must make a date with these magnificent pyramids.
